The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened registration for Class 9 and Class 11 students appearing in the 2025 board exams, starting from September 18. Schools affiliated with CBSE can register their students through the official portal, cbse.gov.in. The deadline for submitting registration forms without incurring a late fee is October 16.
According to the official notice, only those students whose names and details are submitted by their respective schools will be eligible to take the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in the 2025-26 session. Before submitting student information, schools must register themselves on the designated portal.
Additionally, schools must ensure that students are not from unauthorised or unaffiliated institutions and are regularly attending classes. It is also important that students are not registered with any other school boards besides CBSE. Schools are instructed to accurately provide candidate information, including the names of the student, parents or guardians, subjects, and other required details.
CBSE has also reminded schools that many organisations and state governments offer scholarships based on the financial status of students. Schools may collect information about the parents’ annual income as provided by them but should refrain from requesting income proof such as ITR from parents.
