NDA Secures Strong Majority in Bihar Elections Yet Again

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has secured a dominant win in the Bihar legislative assembly election, capturing 202 out of 243 seats, while the main opposition Mahagathbandhan managed just 35 seats. On a party-wise breakdown: the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took 89 seats, the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) secured 85 seats, and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP-RV) won 19 seats. Among the opposition, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) claimed 25 seats, and the Indian National Congress (INC) managed just 6 seats.

In terms of vote share, the NDA coalition gained approximately 46–47%, while the Mahagathbandhan tallied around 35.9%. Individually, RJD received about 22.76%, BJP around 20.08%, JD(U) about 19.25%, LJP-RV about 5.05%, and Congress clocked in at 8.72%. The election’s standout winner is undoubtedly Nitish Kumar, reinforcing his long-standing leadership position.

Meanwhile, the biggest setback was faced by Prashant Kishor, whose newly formed Jan Suraaj Party failed to secure a single seat, making it one of the most significant losses in this election cycle. Overall, the results give the NDA a strong mandate to lead Bihar again.
