Veteran actor Darshan Zariwala, who has shared the screen with Ranbir Kapoor in films like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti, recently praised the actor, calling him the “best” among his contemporaries. Ranbir Kapoor, who debuted in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007, has since established himself as a versatile performer.
Reflecting on Ranbir’s career, Zariwala noted, “Among his contemporaries, he is the best. The roles he chooses, the films he picks, he doesn’t limit himself like many stars do. He experiments.” He pointed to films like Brahmastra and Animal to showcase Ranbir’s willingness to take on diverse characters and his collaboration with talented directors, such as Prakash Jha.
Zariwala also shared an anecdote involving Shahid Kapoor, who once sought Ranbir’s advice before working on Phata Poster Nikla Hero. Ranbir suggested Shahid follow the director’s actions, not just their words.
Ranbir Kapoor is currently preparing for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and has Ramayan with Nitesh Tiwari in the pipeline.
