Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed that after being diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disorder, she pleaded with filmmakers Raj and DK to replace her in the series Citadel Honey Bunny. During an interview with Galatta India, Samantha shared how she doubted her ability to handle the physical demands of the role and even recommended other actresses for the part. “I sent them names of other heroines, insisting they would be better suited for the role,” she said, adding that she didn’t believe she could continue due to her health struggles.
Despite her concerns, Samantha expressed gratitude for staying on the project after watching her performance. “I am so thankful they didn’t move on without me. Even before the show’s verdict, I’m proud of myself for pushing through,” she said.
Her co-star Varun Dhawan also praised her resilience at the Citadel Honey Bunny trailer launch, noting how inspiring it was to watch her persevere despite her health challenges. He mentioned that her determination not only motivated him but also the entire cast and crew. The action-packed series, a spin-off of the American show Citadel, is set to premiere on November 7.
