Aishwarya Rai Reflects on Navigating Relationship Challenges with Abhishek Bachchan: ‘Keep the Communication Going

An old interview of Aishwarya Rai has resurfaced amid speculation surrounding her marriage with Abhishek Bachchan, which has been under public scrutiny, especially after the Bachchan family’s silence on Aishwarya’s recent 51st birthday. While fans and well-wishers worldwide celebrated her special day on November 1, Abhishek and even her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, did not publicly post a birthday message, drawing attention from fans who are used to their affectionate exchanges.

Previously, Aishwarya shared heartfelt birthday posts for Abhishek, including family photos with their daughter Aaradhya and throwback images. Abhishek also reciprocated with warm messages on Aishwarya’s birthdays in the past, which made this year’s silence noticeable. On April 20, the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary with a shared selfie, emphasizing their bond. This unusual absence of a birthday post from Abhishek raised curiosity among fans.

In the recently resurfaced interview, Aishwarya opened up about the balance and communication required in their relationship. “There’s a lot of adjustment, a lot of give and take,” she told Filmfare. “It’s important to keep the communication going. I’ve always believed in that.” She expressed appreciation for Abhishek’s respect for open dialogue, emphasizing that “friendship” is at the core of a relationship, and one shouldn’t be pressured to resolve every issue immediately. She said, “If it needs to go to tomorrow, then it’ll go to tomorrow. And if you can shut the chapter today, great!” Aishwarya highlighted the importance of sensitivity and respect for one’s partner, concluding that openness is essential for shared time and understanding.

Aishwarya and Abhishek, one of India’s most admired couples, married in 2007 and have a daughter, Aaradhya, who will turn 13 next Saturday. Aishwarya’s recent acclaimed role in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan series has won her multiple awards, while Abhishek is preparing for the release of I Want To Talk, directed by Shoojit Sircar.
